A Fresh Batch of Talent
The Iowa State Cyclones basketball program has turned the Peach Jam into a showcase for its top 2027 recruiting class, a group that has already drawn comparisons to elite prospects across the country. The event, which begins on July 14, will feature three four‑star recruits who have each carved out a distinct path within the summer circuit.
Josiah Harrington, a forward from the Brad Beal Elite program, will lead an underdog effort for his team, hoping to surprise opponents with his 10.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game averages. Donovan Davis, meanwhile, suits up for Team Herro, where he contributes 9.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, while Jack Kohnen, also on Team Herro, adds 10.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game to the lineup.
Team Herro enters the tournament with a 13‑2 record, tied for the best mark in its league, and will open play on July 14 against Jet Academy at 12 p.m. ET before facing a slate of opponents that includes Vegas Elite, the Nightrydas, PSA Cardinals and Kingdom Hoops. Across the bracket, Brad Beal Elite will begin its campaign at 1:30 p.m. ET against the Indy Heat, then meet Mokan Elite, AB Elite, PG Elite and Meanstreets in subsequent matchups.
The presence of these recruits at the Peach Jam underscores the growing importance of AAU competition in the development of future college stars. As the Cyclones' staff watches the games, they are not only evaluating talent but also gauging how each player fits into a broader narrative of underdog perseverance and breakout potential.
