A New Era for Legacy Motor Club
Seven‑time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson has broadened the roster of investors behind his Legacy Motor Club, bringing in a cross‑section of athletes, musicians and entrepreneurs who share a vision for the future of the sport.
The new cohort includes racing stalwarts such as Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti, NASCAR‑adjacent stars like Tony Kanaan, and championship‑winning figures from other arenas including tennis great Andy Roddick, baseball veteran Chase Utley and surfer Kelly Slater. Grammy‑winning singer Darius Rucker and media personality Guy Fieri also join the mix, alongside business innovators Jen Rubio and Sam Byrne.
While Johnson continues to hold a majority stake, the expanded ownership group is positioned to reshape Legacy’s operational model, targeting excellence on the track and innovation in media rights, partnership development, hospitality services, and fan engagement.
In a statement, Johnson emphasized that the collective brings a common appreciation for competition, leadership and the construction of enduring organizations, noting that the diverse backgrounds of the investors will fuel fresh ideas and strategic growth.
Based in North Carolina, the club’s headquarters will serve as a hub for this collaborative effort, leveraging local talent and resources to drive a modern motorsports enterprise that competes at the highest level.
