The inaugural Kyle Busch Invitational roared to life this weekend at Bowman Gray Stadium in North Carolina, marking the first NASCAR race dedicated to the memory of the late champion Kyle Busch.
A Race With Purpose
Busch died in May after a bout with pneumonia that quickly turned to sepsis, just days before he was slated to compete in the Coca‑Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
In tribute, proceeds from the event will benefit the Bundle of Joy Fund, a nonprofit founded by Busch and his wife Samantha in 2015 to help families confronting infertility. The organization has already awarded more than $2 million in grants and facilitated the birth of over 100 babies through IVF support.
The weekend’s lineup boasts roughly 70 drivers, among them racing veterans Chris Fleming and Burt Myers, while Brexton Busch, the couple’s son, will make a special appearance in the Young Lions division, continuing his father’s racing legacy.
Fans can expect pit gates to open at noon, with practice sessions kicking off at 2 p.m. and the feature races slated to begin at 7:30 p.m., promising an evening of high‑octane competition in support of a charitable cause.
