A Legacy Etched in Asphalt
Kyle Busch has etched his name into the record books as NASCAR’s all‑time winningest driver across the Cup, Xfinity and Truck series. His dominance stretches to Daytona International Speedway, where he has collected victories in every major event the track hosts.
Although the Daytona 500 has eluded him, Busch’s performances in the other marquee races tell a different story. He captured the Coke Zero 400 in 2008, took the final Busch Series race at Daytona in 2007, and edged out competitors by 0.017 seconds in the 2014 Truck Series event.
His early breakthrough came in 2004, when he won an ARCA race at Daytona, holding off veteran Frank Kimmel to claim his first victory on the 2.5‑mile oval. Two years later he would win the preseason Clash twice, in 2012 and 2021, and he has added three Daytona Duel triumphs that set the lineup for the Daytona 500.
Beyond Daytona, Busch’s career highlights include two Cup championships in 2015 and 2019, and a total of 63 Cup victories that place him ninth on the series leaderboard. His 2015 season ended abruptly when a compound fracture of his right leg and a broken left foot forced him to miss the remainder of the Xfinity event at Daytona.
