Longhorns lock in 2026‑27 schedule amid roster overhaul
The University of Texas announced its full slate of games for the 2026‑27 season, a schedule that blends a rugged SEC slate with a non‑conference lineup designed to test the team early and often.
Home games at the Moody Center will welcome traditional rivals Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M, while the road slate includes trips to face Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and a rematch with Florida.
The non‑conference portion opens on Nov. 8 against Louisiana‑Lafayette and quickly escalates with contests against Virginia, Duke and UConn, a trio that promises to gauge the Longhorns’ readiness for league play.
Coach Sean Miller, now in his second year, has overhauled the roster, adding transfers Mikey Lewis, Elyjah Freeman, Amari Evans, David Punch and Isaiah Johnson, as well as Lithuanian guard Mantas Laurencikas, while Dailyn Swain has moved on to the Chicago Bulls.
A fresh batch of talent arrives
The incoming freshman class features McDonald’s All‑American Austin Goosby alongside Bo Ogden and Joe Sterling, giving the program additional depth as it prepares for the rigors of SEC competition.
The schedule also reflects the program’s growing visibility, with coverage from partners such as 247Sports and McDonald’s, underscoring the blend of athletic ambition and commercial partnership that defines modern college basketball.
