Adorned with a golden V that stands for both Victory and the house’s initials, the case features a distinctive monogram pattern, a beige leather lining and gold‑plated brass corner protectors, while a small patch inside recalls the enduring collaboration between Louis Vuitton and FIFA.
Craftsmanship Meets Tradition
This marks the fifth successive occasion that the French luxury house has been entrusted with designing such a container, underscoring a relationship that has become a benchmark for how high fashion intersects with global sporting events.
Pietro Beccari, chief executive of Louis Vuitton, said the project reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence and its belief that sport has the power to inspire and unite people across continents.
The tradition of luxury brands shaping sporting trophies extends beyond football; Tiffany & Co. has been responsible for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, awarded to the Super Bowl champion, since 1967, while the same house also supplies ceremonial pieces for other marquee competitions.
Under a decade‑long agreement, Louis Vuitton also creates bespoke trunk‑like cases for the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit, further cementing its role in the ceremonial apparatus of elite sport.
Although the trophy normally resides in the FIFA Museum in Zurich, the act of preparing its luxury transport is regarded as a particular honor, blending heritage, craftsmanship and the spectacle of the world’s most watched tournament.
