McDonald’s joins forces with the International Women’s Baseball Center
McDonald’s is stepping onto the diamond in Rockford, Illinois, as the official food partner of the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup. The fast‑food giant has teamed up with the International Women’s Baseball Center to create a series of special events that run from July 21 through July 26.
At the heart of the collaboration is the Maybelle Blair Meal, a limited‑time offering named for IWBC co‑founder Maybelle Blair. The meal features two cheeseburgers, a side of fries and a fountain drink, and fans who purchase it can redeem a pair of red sunglasses inspired by Blair at the July 25 game.
All proceeds from the Maybelle Blair Meal will be funneled to the International Women’s Baseball Center, providing direct financial support for the growth of women’s baseball. In addition, McDonald’s is spearheading a donation drive that invites patrons to bring household essentials such as paper towels, disinfectant wipes and trash bags to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.
A mascot‑filled celebration
The drive culminates on July 25, when Ronald McDonald makes his first public appearance in Rockford in nearly a decade. The iconic clown will throw the ceremonial first pitch during Mascot and Superhero Night, sharing the stage with characters including Grimace, the Hamburglar, Hammy the IceHog and Rally the Rivetsaurus.
Beyond the food and festivities, the partnership underscores a broader commitment to community outreach. By blending a beloved brand with a grassroots baseball organization, the event aims to inspire the next generation of female athletes while delivering tangible support to local charities.
A community celebration
The combination of culinary treats, charitable giving and mascot appearances creates a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates both sport and solidarity. Fans are encouraged to join the celebration, enjoy the Maybelle Blair Meal, and contribute to a cause that extends far beyond the ballpark.
