Mizzou Athletics has pulled back the curtain on a special set of throwback uniforms that will be worn by the Tigers when they host Troy on September 19, a date that also marks the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium’s opening.
A Century in the Making
The design deliberately reaches into the program’s rich past, stitching together motifs from the 1920s through the 1970s. A classic block M logo from the early twentieth century appears on the jersey front, while the sleeves echo the black, gold and white striping that defined the offensive schemes of the 1970s, a decade that produced stars such as Phil Bradley, Kellen Winslow and James Wilder.
The matchup is slated for an 11:45 a.m. kickoff and will be carried live on SEC Network+, giving viewers across the country a chance to witness the celebration. To mark the occasion, the university is offering a Centennial Celebration Ticket Package priced at $100, which bundles four admissions with a parking pass, providing a convenient way for supporters to experience the historic milestone.
Fans can also purchase a Nike‑inspired merchandise collection that mirrors the retro aesthetic, available through the online shop at shop.mutigers.com and at the newly opened Tiger Team Store inside Memorial Stadium. The apparel line includes jackets, caps and T‑shirts that feature the vintage color palette and historic graphics.
Beyond the uniforms, the event serves as a tribute to the stadium’s century‑long role as a gathering place for alumni, students and the broader community. Since its debut in 1926, Memorial Stadium has witnessed countless defining moments in Mizzou football, and this centennial game aims to connect today’s generation with the legacy of the program.
