Mizzou's Ambetter Health Jersey Patch Deal
The University of Missouri announced on Tuesday that it has finalized a jersey patch sponsorship with Ambetter Health, a health insurance provider, for its football and Olympic sports programs beginning with the 2026‑27 academic year. The agreement makes Mizzou the third institution in the Southeastern Conference to adopt a jersey‑patch arrangement, following the University of Arkansas’s deal with Tyson Foods and LSU’s partnership with Woodside Energy.
Learfield, the multimedia rights agency that represents Missouri athletics, facilitated the transaction. While the financial terms remain confidential, the university confirmed that the arrangement reflects a broader upward trend in sponsorship revenue, which has risen more than 130 percent over the past three years.
Notably, the university’s men’s and women’s basketball squads were omitted from the patch agreement and are currently negotiating separate deals. Athletics Director Laird Veatch disclosed that the North End Zone premium club’s naming rights have been sold to EquipmentShare, while the South End Zone will be rebranded under a partnership with Multipli Credit Union.
Financial Upswing and Naming Rights Ambitions
The university’s athletics department reported a 130 percent surge in sponsorship revenue over the last three years, a growth spurt that has been driven in part by strategic partnerships such as the Ambetter Health deal. This financial uplift has enabled the school to explore high‑visibility naming opportunities across its facilities.
While the stadium naming rights remain a work in progress, the recent premium club agreements signal a willingness to monetize ancillary assets, a tactic that mirrors strategies adopted by peer institutions seeking to maximize ancillary income.
