Strategic Timing and New Features
The upcoming NASCAR 26 title from iRacing is slated to hit stores in September 2026, a window carefully chosen to sidestep the massive launch of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Adding to the hype, Kyle Larson, the 2021 Cup Series champion, will grace the game's cover, bringing his recent on‑track success to the virtual grid.
Players will be able to race on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam, while a version for the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2 remains under consideration.
Beyond the hardware rollout, the developers promise a curated soundtrack overseen by Dale Earnhardt Jr., alongside a new control scheme that lets racers mute or skip individual tracks.
The game also aims to incorporate community feedback from its predecessor, NASCAR 25, which earned a modest Metacritic score of 73, and to expand the roster of features with stronger post‑launch support.
Among the new tracks, a street circuit set around Naval Base Coronado in San Diego is rumored to be included, adding a fresh urban backdrop to the series.
iRacing hopes the combination of timing, star power and enhanced modes will give NASCAR 26 a competitive edge as the racing simulation landscape evolves.
