NASCAR and Ford have unveiled a new Veterans Day race called the “Proud to Honor Veterans Day Classic,” set for November 11, though the exact venue has yet to be announced.
A Salute on the Track
The event will pay tribute to all six branches of the United States military and showcase Ford’s track‑only Mustang Dark Horse R, giving fans a first look at the high‑performance machine.
While the race falls outside the regular NASCAR schedule, it is positioned as a standalone special event that amplifies the series’ existing military appreciation efforts.
Charitable Partnerships
In partnership with Blue Star Families, the race will feature a safe‑driving program aimed at military teens, as well as a concert by the Zac Brown Band that will benefit a range of veteran service organizations.
Tim Clark, NASCAR’s executive vice president and chief brand officer, served in the Army and has family members who have also served, underscoring the personal connection he feels to the tribute.
Nick Ford, a member of Ford’s corporate strategy team, highlighted the importance of the event to the company and to his own family, noting that the collaboration reflects a deeper commitment to those who serve.
Looking Forward
The race will also debut a limited‑edition red, white and blue Super Duty Proud to Honor package, with proceeds directed to Blue Star Families, an organization that supports military families through deployment challenges.
By elevating the tribute beyond a single race, NASCAR and Ford hope to create a lasting impact that resonates with fans and service members alike.
