Michigan Doubleheader Sets the Stage for NASCAR Action

The NASCAR Cup Series and the Craftsman Truck Series are set to converge on Michigan International Speedway this weekend, delivering a rare doubleheader that pits the premier stock‑car division against the series’ most rugged trucks.

On Sunday, June 7, the Cup field will contest the FireKeepers Casino 400, a 200‑lap marathon that breaks the race into three stages ending at laps 45, 120 and 200. Early betting lines have placed Denny Hamlin at the top of the board at +375, making him the clear favorite heading into the event.

The Truck Series will run its DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 on Saturday, June 6, over 125 laps with stage breaks at laps 30, 60 and 125. The lineup features a mix of veteran names and rising talent, including Corey Hiem in the TRICON Garage entry and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. piloting a Niece Motorsports entry.

A total of 37 drivers have entered the Cup field, ensuring a full grid of competitors, while only 36 trucks will see action as one entry will be withdrawn. Notable entries include Austin Hill, who will drive for Richard Childress Racing, and J.J. Yeley, slated to compete for NY Racing, alongside a host of other series regulars.

Fans can follow the action live on Amazon Prime Video, while radio coverage will be provided by MRN and SiriusXM. The Truck Series broadcast will also be available on FS1, NRN and SiriusXM, giving viewers multiple ways to tune in.

Last year’s winners, Denny Hamlin in the Cup Series and Stewart Friesen in the Truck Series, will be looking to defend their titles, adding an extra layer of intrigue to what promises to be a competitive weekend.
