NBA, FIBA and Turkish Basketball Federation Launch Inaugural Men’s Basketball Without Borders Next Up Camp in Istanbul

The four‑day event celebrates the program’s 25th anniversary, brings 80 elite prospects to Turkey and debuts a women’s edition this fall.

The NBA, FIBA and the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) will jointly host the inaugural Men’s Basketball Without Borders Next Up camp in Istanbul from August 26 through August 29, 2026, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Basketball Without Borders program that has connected thousands of young athletes worldwide.

A Milestone in Global Basketball Development

The four‑day camp will gather 80 of the most promising male high‑school prospects from across the globe for athletic testing, skill development drills and 5‑on‑5 games, all under the guidance of NBA and FIBA players and coaches including Kenny Atkinson, Vlade Divac, Danilo Gallinari, Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton and Jalen Suggs.

In a historic expansion, the first Women’s BWB Next Up camp is scheduled for the fall of 2026, and participants will compete for awards such as MVP, Sportsmanship, Three‑Point Champion, Defensive MVP and Playoff MVP; Nike will provide apparel and footwear for all attendees.

Since its launch in 2001, BWB has reached more than 4,900 athletes from 149 countries, with 155 former campers advancing to the NBA or WNBA, and the Istanbul edition aligns with Turkey’s rising basketball profile after recently hosting the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup and nurturing a strong domestic talent pipeline.
