Paramount+ has announced a four‑episode docuseries that will follow the Texas Tech University Red Raiders football program as head coach Joey McGuire shapes a new identity for the team.
The series, produced by Skydance Sports in partnership with Second Wind Creative, offers an unprecedented glimpse into the rigors of college football offseason work, from strategy sessions to player development.
Behind the camera
Micah Brown serves as both director and showrunner, steering the narrative with a focus on authenticity and access to the locker room, practices and team meetings.
Greg Groggel, senior vice president of unscripted programming at Skydance Sports, says the project will give viewers a front‑row seat to the challenges and triumphs that define modern college football.
Kirby Horcutt, director of athletics at Texas Tech, expressed pride that the university has been selected for such a documentary, noting that the series reflects the institution’s growing visibility in national sports media.
The docuseries is slated to premiere before the upcoming college football season, timed to coincide with heightened fan interest and the start of the new schedule.
While the production highlights the on‑field ambitions of the Red Raiders, it also explores broader themes of community, tradition and the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics.
