PGA Tour Teams with Recast to Expand Global Streaming Reach

New partnership leverages fintech platform to monetize content in untapped markets

The PGA Tour has announced a partnership with Recast, a fintech platform designed for global streaming distribution, aimed at reaching audiences in markets where the tour does not currently hold broadcast rights.

Recast’s technology lets sports properties such as NASCAR, FIFA+, World Aquatics and World Supercross sell direct streaming access to fans abroad, often by embedding the video player on sites where those fans already spend time, including the Golf Digest website.

Under the model, content creators retain control over pricing while Recast manages the payment processing and geofencing required to restrict access to the appropriate regions.

Embedding Streams in Existing Digital Spaces

The approach is particularly attractive to smaller or emerging leagues that want to monetize their content without the overhead of building a dedicated streaming infrastructure, giving them a pathway to a worldwide fan base.

Recast was founded by Andy Meikle, who previously launched Sportlobster, a social sports platform that attracted brand ambassadors like Cristiano Ronaldo and partnered with leagues such as the NBA and NFL. Scott Guglielmino, a former ESPN executive with 27 years in programming and acquisitions, now serves on Recast’s board.

The company also works with Mux to provide end‑to‑end video infrastructure for partners that need more customization, and it enables properties to keep granular viewer data, offering insight into consumption patterns that can inform future content strategies.
