23XI Racing is set to debut a Space Jam‑themed entry in the NASCAR Cup Series at Chicagoland Speedway, marking the 30th anniversary of the beloved 1996 film. The specially painted car will be piloted by Bubba Wallace during the July 5 event, which also marks the first Cup Series race at the Illinois venue since 2019.
The collaboration, overseen by Upper Deck President Jason Masherah, blends the movie’s cultural footprint with the high‑octane energy of NASCAR and the collector‑driven passion of die‑cast enthusiasts. Steve Lauletta, President of 23XI Racing, added that the partnership brings together the fun and nostalgia of Space Jam with the sport’s growing fan base.
Lionel will issue a limited‑edition diecast of the car, highlighting Bubba Wallace’s signature and the film’s iconic imagery. Michael Jordan, who co‑owns 23XI Racing, has emphasized the significance of honoring a movie that grossed $250.2 million at the box office while celebrating the intersection of sports and entertainment.
