The University of Tennessee announced a 10‑year partnership with Adidas, designating the German sportswear leader as the official outfitter and equipment provider for all Volunteer athletic programs.
Through the agreement, Adidas will deliver footwear, uniforms, apparel and sideline gear to every Tennessee team, creating a cohesive visual identity that reflects the university’s competitive spirit.
The deal marks the return of Adidas to Tennessee’s athletic landscape, a relationship that first flourished from 1995 through 2015 before the university transitioned to Nike on July 1, 2015.
A Strategic Return
Head coach Rick Barnes welcomed the partnership, emphasizing that Adidas’ global brand power and alignment with the Volunteers’ recent successes will help attract elite recruits and reinforce the program’s aspirations.
Adidas, based in Herzogenaurach, Germany, employs more than 62,000 people worldwide and generated €24.8 billion in sales in 2025, illustrating the extensive resources the company will bring to the Tennessee ecosystem.
