Tennessee Athletics Partners with Axle Logistics in Multi-Year Jersey Sponsorship Deal

The agreement brings a Knoxville logistics firm into the Volunteers’ basketball uniforms, unlocking new opportunities for student-athletes.

Tennessee Athletics announced a five-year agreement that will place the logo of Knoxville-based Axle Logistics on the front of the Volunteers’ basketball jerseys.

The partnership, which also funds influencer-marketing campaigns and professional networking events, is designed to give student-athletes new pathways to build personal brands and connect with business leaders.

A Strategic Move for Volunteer Basketball

Both the men’s and women’s teams will feature the Axle Logistics patch, with the men’s squad debuting the branding in an exhibition game against Xavier on October 15 at the Food City Center, while the Lady Vols will unveil it a week later against Florida A&M on October 27.

Axle Logistics, a third-party logistics firm serving customers across the United States, Canada and Mexico, was founded by alumni of the University of Tennessee’s athletic program, underscoring the company’s deep ties to the Volunteer community.

Beyond the visual presence on the court, the deal creates a framework for student-athletes to engage in sponsored content, gain mentorship from industry professionals, and explore internship opportunities within the logistics sector.

University officials say the collaboration reflects a broader trend of leveraging athletic platforms to foster entrepreneurial skills among scholarship athletes, positioning Tennessee as a leader in collegiate athlete marketing.
