A design rooted in Volunteers heritage
The new orange home jersey was unveiled on Friday, showcasing wide block numbers rendered in crisp white, the signature Adidas three‑stripe detail, and the SEC logo embroidered on the chest. The font itself was co‑created with Adidas, drawing inspiration from the Volunteers' storied football legacy while giving the numerals a contemporary edge.
Inside the back of the collar, a short but powerful message reads "I will give my all!". The collar also features Tennessee’s iconic Power T set within a circle, a subtle homage to the 1990s Adidas uniforms that once defined the program’s look.
A strategic partnership and a four‑day rollout
After an 11‑year run with Nike, the university announced a renewed partnership with Adidas that will shape the Volunteers' apparel for years to come. Athletic director Danny White said the collaboration aligns with the school's vision to set the standard in college sports. The rollout will unfold over four days: white uniforms on Tuesday, Summitt Blue on Wednesday, and Dark Mode alternates on Thursday, with fan merchandise hitting stores and online platforms on Friday.
The partnership is not a fresh start but a continuation of a relationship that dates back two decades. The Smokey Grey alternate uniform, first introduced with Adidas in 2013, will persist, and the black "Dark Mode" alternate, debuted in 2021 with an all‑black helmet following in 2022, will remain part of the lineup.
Looking ahead with in‑house creativity
While Adidas provides the global platform, the university's own creative team will continue to drive the design process, ensuring that each uniform reflects the Volunteers' identity and aspirations. The move signals a blend of tradition and innovation, with the new jersey serving as a tangible expression of the program's evolving narrative.
