A Refined Production Approach
TNT Sports is entering its second year of NASCAR In‑Season Challenge coverage with a more polished operation and a suite of new technologies designed to elevate the broadcast experience. Building on the momentum of its debut season, the network has streamlined its production workflow while expanding the scope of storytelling across its platforms.
Central to this evolution is the debut of the NEP PX1 production truck at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 race in Sonoma, California. The mobile studio brings a host of upgrades that promise more dynamic coverage and a tighter integration of on‑site graphics.
Advanced Camera Systems and Aerial Coverage
The upcoming schedule will feature up to 40 cameras per race, including eight super‑slo‑mo units and a Phantom robotic camera positioned at the finish line. These tools are complemented by drone footage coordinated with Kaze Aerial Productions and Beverly Hills Aerials, adding sweeping perspectives of the track and surrounding scenery.
In addition, the production will weave together SMT virtual advertising, in‑car telemetry and optical‑tracking pointers to deliver richer context for viewers. This technical layer is intended to highlight driver strategies and vehicle performance in real time.
Multiplatform Enhancements and Storytelling
HBO Max will showcase Driver Cam and Multiview experiences, allowing fans to isolate driver‑radio communications and see real‑time radio indicators. At venues such as Chicagoland Speedway in Illinois and North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina, the coverage will emphasize unique storytelling angles, including the return of North Wilkesboro for a points‑paying Cup race — the first since 1996 — and the participation of Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the broadcast team.
Overall, TNT Sports aims to deliver a more flexible and visually compelling NASCAR package that leverages cutting‑edge technology while deepening fan engagement across TNT, truTV, HBO Max and Bleacher Report.
