The Turkish men’s national soccer team touched down in Mesa, Arizona, this week as part of its final preparations for the upcoming World Cup, arriving on June 7.
The team will conduct its training at the Arizona Athletic Grounds, a 275‑acre complex that ranks among the largest sports facilities in North America. Crews have been busy adapting the pitches to meet FIFA specifications, performing weekly inspections and continuous quality testing.
Evening Sessions to Beat the Heat
To escape the scorching desert heat, sessions are scheduled for the cooler evening hours, allowing players to focus on tactics and conditioning without the midday sun.
Community Day and Fan Interaction
A community day is slated for June 8, offering fans the chance to meet the squad, obtain autographs and snap photos. The schedule also includes a highly anticipated friendly against the United States on June 25, a match that will test the Turkish side’s readiness for the tournament.
Local officials are upbeat about the visit. Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman highlighted the city’s ongoing investment in sports infrastructure, noting that hosting international teams underscores the region’s growth and capacity to host world‑class events.
The camp will host roughly 60 individuals, including players, coaching staff and family members, who will shuttle between nearby hotels and the training grounds throughout the stay.
