Celebrating Three Decades of Space Jam
Upper Deck is marking the 30th anniversary of the 1996 film Space Jam with a sweeping collaboration that weaves together the movie’s iconic imagery, the high‑octane world of NASCAR, and the collector’s market.
Central to the partnership is a Space Jam‑themed paint scheme applied to Bubba Wallace’s No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE, which will compete in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway on July 5. The design fuses the film’s basketball motifs with Upper Deck’s sports‑entertainment licensing portfolio, creating a visual bridge between pop culture and motorsport.
The celebration extends beyond the track. Upper Deck will release limited‑time digital trading cards through its e‑Pack platform, alongside a die‑cast model of Wallace’s car produced by Lionel. Both items come paired with a Space Jam‑themed background signed by Wallace, offering fans a tangible piece of the anniversary.
A new line of licensed prints under the Curated® brand will debut with artwork drawn from the original film, while a broader suite of anniversary products — including a trading‑card set featuring film characters and autographed memorabilia — will roll out in the coming weeks. Upper Deck’s authenticated memorabilia division will also issue a separate collection of signed items tied to the milestone.
The partnership will culminate in a public event on July 2 at Chicago’s Navy Pier, where fans can watch a Space Jam screening, receive exclusive prints, and collect personalized trading cards. Wallace’s car will be on display, and the celebration will highlight the cultural impact of the film, the energy of NASCAR, and the passion of collectors, as noted by Upper Deck President Jason Masherah and 23XI Racing President Steve Lauletta.
