A New Era for Trojan Football
USC has opened the Bloom Football Performance Center, a three-story, 163,000-square-foot facility that forms part of a $225 million capital project and replaces the outdated John McKay Center.
The new hub blends modern design with USC’s Romanesque campus aesthetic, set back from the sidewalk, and offers a suite of cutting-edge amenities including infrared beds, sensory-deprivation tanks, AI-driven massage chairs, a players-only sauna, a barbershop and zero-gravity lockers.
A 12,000-square-foot weight room features vaulted ceilings and 30-foot glass doors that open directly onto the practice field, while an outdoor terrace houses basketball and pickleball courts for recruit gatherings.
Recruiting Impact
Coach Lincoln Riley, who was recruited in part by this facility, described the amenities as exceeding his expectations and highlighted the center’s role in strengthening player and staff retention.
Recruiting analyst Haley Sawyer noted that the Bloom Center serves as a decisive bargaining chip in securing Riley’s commitment and shaping the program’s future.
