San Diego native Brycen Mautz is set to debut in the majors for the St. Louis Cardinals, opening the season against the Cincinnati Reds. The right‑hander, a 2022 All‑WCC First Team selection, becomes the 27th Toreros player to reach the big leagues and was recently named 2025 Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
