Gutman’s Matchday Honor
Chicago Fire defender Andrew Gutman was selected for the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 15 after his decisive strike that secured a 2‑1 victory over Toronto FC. The goal came in the second half, breaking a 1‑1 deadlock and propelling the Fire into the World Cup break on a three‑game winning streak.
It marked Gutman's fifth appearance on the league’s weekly honors in just three seasons with Chicago, underscoring his growing influence on the defensive side of the pitch.
The Fire will next host Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 16, a match that will be streamed worldwide on Apple TV and aired locally on WLS 890 AM in English, as well as on TUDN Chicago 106.7‑HD2 and the Uforia by TREBEL app in Spanish.
Adding to the excitement, the game will be followed by a Two Friends concert, closing out the Summer Concert Series presented by Café Bustelo.
Gutman’s recognition reflects the broader impact of Chicago’s soccer community, echoing the city’s rich heritage and the league’s growing global reach.
