A New Era for NASCAR Broadcasting
The NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway scheduled for June 14 will no longer air on Fox. Instead, the event will be streamed live on Amazon Prime Video as part of a broader realignment of the sport’s television contracts.
Under the freshly negotiated media rights deal, Fox’s annual NASCAR slate has been trimmed from 18 to 14 races. The reduction clears space for Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports to each secure five races, marking a significant shift toward streaming platforms in the sport’s distribution strategy.
Prime Video’s lineup will feature the Pocono event as its fourth of five scheduled races, while TNT Sports will kick off its five‑race block in late June with the Sonoma Raceway event. Both platforms will lean on a seasoned commentary crew that includes Adam Alexander, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Steve Letarte.
NBC will assume the traditional broadcast responsibilities later in the year, taking over coverage beginning in August at Iowa Speedway. The network plans to air most of its races on USA Network, with only four events landing on the main NBC channel.
The Pocono race has also been moved to a 1:00 p.m. Eastern start time to accommodate forecasts of inclement weather, ensuring the safety of drivers and fans while preserving the integrity of the event.
