Jadah Washington, a 2028 point guard hailing from the Washington, D.C., area, has quickly become a focal point for Syracuse’s recruiting staff. Currently a junior at Sidwell Friends School, he balances academic rigor with a high‑profile basketball career that already spans two seasons of elite competition.
On the court, Washington’s sophomore year yielded averages of 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 3.6 steals per game, while his AAU stint with the 16U squad of Team Takeover in Nike’s EYBL league has seen him post 8.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.3 steals. Those numbers, coupled with a 22‑7 record that helped Sidwell Friends capture a fifth straight MAC Tournament title, underscore his impact.
A crowded field of suitors
The buzz around Washington extends beyond his hometown. College programs such as Syracuse, VCU, UCLA, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Buffalo have all expressed interest, and he already holds early scholarship offers from Saint Louis and Hampton. His recent unofficial visit to VCU offered a first‑hand look at the program, a trip made more intriguing by the presence of Syracuse assistant Ryan Daly, who previously worked at VCU.
