Kara Korber grew up with soccer in her blood. Her father, a former Georgetown player, introduced her to the pitch, and she quickly fell in love with the game that would later define her career.
At Georgetown University, Korber not only honed her skills on the field but also helped the team capture its first-ever Big East Conference National Division Championship, a milestone that set the stage for her professional ambitions.
Internships at ESPN and NBC, where she covered the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, gave her a taste of sports broadcasting, while a stint at Sports Illustrated in New York sharpened her storytelling abilities.
Before moving to the West Coast, she spent time at United Talent Agency in Los Angeles, learning the business side of sports representation and deal-making.
Cultivating Soccer Culture in the U.S.
Today, Korber serves as vice president of business development for the LA Galaxy and Anschutz Entertainment Group, where she crafts partnerships and activates fan experiences that align with the growing appetite for soccer in the United States.
Her recent projects include organizing the Coachella Valley Invitational and the College Basketball Crown, as well as orchestrating massive watch parties across the Los Angeles metropolitan area that aim to convert casual viewers into dedicated Galaxy supporters.
Working with global clubs such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Manchester United, she has helped arrange tours that bring European powerhouses to American stadiums, expanding the sport’s footprint and creating new revenue streams.
Korber’s strategy to capitalize on the heightened interest generated by the World Cup reflects a broader vision: to embed soccer deeper into the cultural fabric of U.S. cities, using events, media, and community engagement as catalysts.
