MLS Announces Revised Roster for 2026 All-Star Game

Four new faces join the MLS All-Stars as Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul sit out due to World Cup commitments

A New Look for the MLS All-Stars

The 2026 MLS All-Star Game is set to take place on July 29 in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the league’s best will face off against a LIGA MX All-Star squad. The event will be streamed live on Apple TV, reaching audiences in more than 100 countries.

Originally, the roster was to feature stars such as Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul, but both players have been excused because of their World Cup obligations. In their place, the league has added Yannick Bright, Andrés Cubas, Guilherme and Philip Zinckernagel, ensuring the showcase still reflects the league’s competitive depth.

Bright, who has appeared in 13 matches for Inter Miami CF this season, has started 12 of those games and helped the team post a 9‑2‑1 record in his starting appearances. His presence adds a dynamic midfield option for the All-Stars.

Cubas, a key figure for the Vancouver Whitecaps, has started 11 games in 2026 and famously played every minute of Paraguay’s World Cup campaign. His endurance and passing range make him a natural fit for the MLS side.

Guilherme has been a revelation for Houston Dynamo FC, contributing eight goals and five assists in his debut MLS season. His 13 combined goal involvements represent the highest tally for a first‑year player in the league this year.

Zinckernagel brings a wealth of European experience to the mix, having logged 83 goals and 80 assists across 403 professional appearances. In the current campaign he has recorded five goals and seven assists in 15 starts for Chicago Fire FC.

Broadcast and Viewing Options

The All-Star Game will also be available through a host of domestic platforms, including Chime, AT&T, DIRECTV and Xfinity, ensuring fans can follow the action across multiple channels.
