Ian Condon, a 6‑foot‑7, 245‑pound forward from Washington, D.C., has quickly become one of the most talked‑about names in the 2027 recruiting class. He plays his high school ball at Sidwell Friends School, where he has already established himself as a dominant senior, and he spends his travel season with the 17U squad of Team Melo, a program sponsored by Carmelo Anthony.
A Summer of Surge
During the recent EYBL circuit in Las Vegas, Condon averaged 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from three‑point range and an eye‑catching 90.9 percent from the free‑throw line. His teammate Jadah Washington is also attracting interest from Syracuse’s coaching staff, underscoring the duo’s impact on the circuit.
Condon’s performances have not gone unnoticed by college programs. Syracuse’s new head coach Gerry McNamara extended a scholarship offer, and other schools such as N.C. State, Boston College and Villanova have reportedly added him to their watch lists. The prospect’s scholarship list is expected to continue growing as his summer numbers keep climbing.
Ranking services currently place Condon at No. 91 nationally, but analysts anticipate he will break into the top 100 and possibly the top 50 as the 2027 class solidifies. With a blend of size, shooting efficiency and defensive versatility, Condon is being viewed as a potential frontline prospect for the next level.
