Greek Stretch Big Man Alexandros Samodurov Opts Out of NBA Draft, Eyes Tar Heels
Alexandros Samodurov announced on Thursday that he is pulling his name out of the NBA Draft, a move that clears the path for him to pursue a college career in the United States. The 21‑year‑old, who can operate at both the power forward and center positions, currently competes in the EuroLeague, where his stretch‑big skill set has drawn attention from several programs. His recent performance helped his Greek club clinch a semifinal victory, propelling the team into the domestic title game and underscoring his readiness for a new challenge. North Carolina Tar Heels coach Michael Malone has been actively assembling a frontcourt that can compete at the highest level, and Samodurov’s potential addition fits neatly into the plans for the 2026‑27 season.
