The latest All-Area baseball team highlights exceptional hitters and pitchers from across the Battle Creek coverage zone, celebrating their contributions to high school success.

Six standout athletes from Macomb County were named All‑State by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association, with two earning spots on the prestigious Dream Team and several more securing first‑team honors across divisions.

The Coldwater Cardinal baseball team captured its first district and regional championships since 2013, finishing the season with a 21-17 record and a second-place finish in the Interstate 8. Senior Owen Tappenden headlined the celebration, earning both Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Pitcher honors for the second straight year while setting a school record with a .514 batting average and 18 home runs.

The Coldwater Cardinals captured their first MHSAA Division 2 Regional title in over a decade, driven by standout performances from Owen Tappenden and Rylan Edwards, before falling to Vicksburg in the quarterfinals.
Regional semifinals and finals across southern Michigan delivered dramatic moments, from Lakeview’s early RBI single to Coldwater’s championship win and eventual state quarterfinal loss.
