Shannon Spake, a veteran voice that has guided NASCAR viewers through countless races, is making her long‑awaited return to pit road after a ten‑year absence.
Spake first broke onto the scene in 2005 at the SPEED Channel, later building a reputation at ESPN and FOX where she anchored the popular NASCAR Race Hub program before it was discontinued by FOX in July 2024.
A new chapter for NASCAR coverage
After the cancellation, she transitioned to NASCAR Digital Media and TNT Sports, where she hosted the series “NASCAR Inside the Playoffs,” showcasing her versatility across platforms.
Her comeback is timed with the launch of the 2026 In‑Season Challenge, a 32‑driver, single‑elimination bracket that offers a $1 million prize, and she will be on pit road alongside veteran analysts Marty Snider and Danielle Trotta.
The event also features the recent triumph of New Zealand’s Shane van Gisbergen, who captured the Toyota/Save Mart 350, marking his third consecutive road‑course victory and underscoring the growing international talent in the series.
Adding to the broadcast lineup, Jimmie Johnson, a seven‑time NASCAR champion, will serve as a studio analyst for three of the five races, bringing his championship experience to the commentary booth.
Together, these additions signal a fresh direction for the sport’s coverage, blending seasoned expertise with new perspectives as the series looks ahead to an ambitious schedule.
