The recent EYBL live period, held from May 15 through May 17 and sponsored by Nike and Adidas, brought together some of the nation’s most coveted 2027 and 2028 prospects under the watchful eyes of college coaches. Syracuse assistant coach Ryan Daly was on hand in Memphis, Tennessee, to evaluate the talent firsthand.
Scout Recognition for Defensive Standouts
Lewis Uvwo was named defensive MVP and earned a spot on the All‑Defensive team, posting averages of 8.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.0 blocks and 1.8 steals per game. Caleb Ourigou followed with a third‑team All‑EYBL selection and a place on the All‑Defensive squad, averaging 12.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks.
King Gibson and Markus Kerr received honorable‑mention accolades, each contributing 16.8 points and 16.3 points respectively while also adding rebounds and assists. Kager Knueppel stood out by making the All‑EYBL first team with 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Future Opportunities on the Horizon
The Circuit also highlighted several players who had previously held offers from Syracuse, reinforcing the program’s ongoing dialogue with top talent. With Gerry McNamara in his inaugural season as head coach, the new staff is poised to extend offers to many of these standouts, a development that could shape the roster for years to come.
